It is important to ensure the data transmission with energy efficient and in secure manner. Energy conservation is an important issue for many applications in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Energy is the primary constraint on designing any Wireless Networks practically. This leads to limited network lifetime of network. Security in the Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is a very challenging task because of their dissimilarities with the conventional wireless networks. The related works so far have been done have tried to solve the problem keeping in the mind the constraints of WSNs. We have proposed a set of cellular automata based security algorithms (CAWS). For achieving both energy and security we propose energy efficient cluster head node selection algorithm and for security we implement cellular automata based key generation method. Experimental results shows our proposed system provides better energy efficient data transmission than existing CAICS.
