Honey pot is a trap set to detect, capture, or in some manner, counteract attempts at unauthorized use of a website. For websites, many of these spam attacks come in the form of junk form submissions or via attempts to find vulnerabilities. They commonly jam in by fill up the contact form, registration form or product inquiry fields that we have on our website, leaving us with potentially hundreds or thousands of spam entries per day. As consider this, my project is based on a counter act system for spam’s which is honey-pot. Honey pot is a security mechanism where a field will be added to the registration form that the users can’t see due to CSS or JavaScript (which hides the field). When the bots scan the codes and fill in the hidden space, the honey pot system detects and captures the bots. In my project, I will use email as the hidden field and also will use advance technique to hide the field. In a manner, my project is to detect, capture, block and produce a list of spam emails using advance hidden technique which makes the honey-pot as advance honey-pot. The methodology which has been used is agile model. Agile is the most and best methodology that can be used for website development. The expected result of my project is, my honey-pot system must able to detect, capture and block the spam boot, prevent them entering to my website. And also to produce a spam Email list which can be used by anti spam societies to verify spam emails. In a nutshell, this project is to identify spam bots, capture and block them from visiting my website in addition use the captured spam information and create a list which can be used as an awareness and verification list to normal users. The project is developed on ASP.NET platform and is supported by a sql server database to store user specific details.
