Automatic vessel structure segmentation is an essential step towards an automatic disease diagnosis system. The task is challenging due to the variance shapes and sizes of vessels across populations. Segmentation of retinal blood vessels is a key step in the diagnosis of fundus diseases like, cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy (DR) are the main diseases that cause blindness. In this process segmentation can effectively and extract features from the image by means of the patterns. However, convolution and pooling operations also filter out some useful information, and the final classification of retinal vessels to classify the image is normal or abnormal.
