ABSTRACT

In data mining the keyword search is the most common application.For the fast search of

keywords over the documents the search index method was introduced.The search index contains

thekeywords and the document list which is large in size.Several compression techniques

introduced to reduce the size of the search index. In the compressed index it always needs to

decompressed during the document retrieval. The proposed Generalized index uses the document

Id’s as interval lists which reduces the size of search index.The proposed search index requires

less space to store and has high search efficiency. And the system also proposed the document

reordering method to increse the continuous ID lists.
