The SPIHT algorithm is very efficient way to coding the significant coefficients and the improved no list SPIHT is easier to implement by hardware. Image compression method based on the combination of both HAAR transform and no lists SPIHT coding is proposed in the paper. Here we implement the compression of image using NLSPIHT with Haar transform and compare the result of decompression with existing algorithm by using the PSNR value of the reconstructed image.
