The Internet of Things ( IoT) is emerging as one of the m ajor trends for t he next evolution of the Internet, where bil-lions of physical objects or things ( including bu t n ot limited to humans) will be connected over the Internet, and a vast amount of information d ata will be shared among t hem. However, the cur-rent Intern et was built on a h ost-centric communication model, which was primarily designed for m eeting t he demand of pair-wise peer-to-peer communications and cannot well accommodate var-ious advanced data-centric services boosted b y t he IoT in which users care about content and are oblivious t o locations where t he content i s s tored. In this paper, we propose a novel architecture for t he future Intern et based on information-centric networking (ICN), which is called DataClouds, t o b etter accommodate data-centric services. The recent advances regarding Internet of Things, social computing and mobile access technologies however converge to make pervasive computing truly ubiquitous. The key challenge is however to make simple and robust solutions for normal users, which shifts the focus from complex platforms involving machine learning and artificial intelligence to more hands on construction of services that are tailored or personalized for individu al users
