Description
We propose a novel method for color face recognition. Here we extract a LBP (Local Binary Pattern). In general LBP can be conceptually considered as a non directional first-order local pattern, which is the binary result of the first-order derivative in images. In pre-processing we separate the color channels. Then we find the local binary pattern (LBP) of images. The histogram values will be calculated for LBP feature. Then we recognize the image from the database. The proposed color local texture features are able to exploit the discriminative information derived from spatiochromatic texture patterns of different spectral channels within a certain local face region. Furthermore, in order to maximize a complementary effect taken by using color and texture information, the opponent color texture features that capture the texture patterns of spatial interactions between spectral channels are also incorporated into the generation of CLGW and CLBP. The proposed CLBP is much more robust against illumination changes than its grayscale counterpart.
