Description
ABSTRACT This paper focuses on the common-mode voltage (CMV) reduction in direct matrix converter (MC) using direct space vector modulation (DSVM) (SVM) method. Even though a previous DSVM method can reduce the CMV peak value to 42% compared to the traditional DSVM, it has some drawbacks such as high switching loss, high RMS value of CMV, etc. This paper proposes a new DSVM that can mitigate the peak value of the CMV to 42% compared to the traditional DSVM method with a better performance, lower RMS value of CMV, leakage current and reduced switching losses. The proposed method is easy to carry out via software without any additional hardware. Simulation results are shown to verify the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method.
